Air conditioning system not pumping air like it should be? That can be a major problem. Lots of issues can arise without proper airflow – overheating, added stress and excess energy consumption, just to name a few. So, if you notice this is happening with your system, here’s what you can do to get things back up and running smoothly: How To Improve Your A/C System's Airflow | Air Conditioner Repair | Rusk Heating & Cooling

  1. Check the filter. If you haven’t cleaned or replaced it in a while, now is the time. Clogged filters can severely restrict airflow as dust, dirt and debris makes it nearly impossible for air to pass through. We recommend looking for a filter with a MERV rating of at least 13.
  2. Check all vents and grills.Make sure they are free and clear of things like carpets/rugs, furniture, plants, or any other items. Also check to make sure all vent louvers are set to the open position as your HVAC system is designed to work most efficiently with all vents open.
  3. Check the exterior condenser unit.Keep it free of grass clippings, leaves, sticks and anything else that could block air from flowing freely. Keep all vegetation cut back so there is at least 3 feet of space around the unit. If you wish to conceal it, make sure your surround leaves adequate clearance for air movement.
