Summer is officially here and it’s time to think about how to stay cool. As a homeowner, you should also be thinking about the most cost-effective way as well. Not to toot our own horn, but we here at Rusk do install new home cooling systems of various kinds. Instead of sitting in front of a fan and hoping the breeze from it is enough, hear us out.

One of our highlighted products would have to be the Geothermal HVAC system. This system reduces 50 to 60% of heating AND cooling costs. What in the world is a Geothermal HVAC system? Let’s break it down.

We install an underground loop system that leads back to your indoor air pump. Why do we do that? The indoor heat pump takes the hot air from your home and re-injects it back into your below the yard loop system, which circulates back into and through the earth. In this case, the water is warmer leaving the home than when it returns since heat is rejected into it. When the water in the loop system goes back to your home, it’s cool again.

Once it is winter, the process is reversed! In Winter, water circulating inside a sealed loop absorbs heat from the Earth and carries it to the unit. Here it is compressed to a higher temperature and sent as warm air to your indoor system for distribution throughout your home.
