What Is Geothermal Heating?

Looking to become more eco-friendly and save some money? If so, geothermal heating might be right for you. A new geothermal system can provide your family the perfect indoor environment while protecting our natural environment. So what is geothermal heating?

How Much Can I Save With Geothermal?

A new Geothermal system can provide your family the perfect indoor environment while protecting our natural environment. And, a new Geothermal comfort system can help reduce your family's heating and cooling costs by as much as 50 to 60%.

How Does It Work?
Geothermal heating draws energy from our planet, which absorbs almost 50 percent of all solar energy. At about four feet beneath the surface, our Earth's temperature stays relatively moderate and consistent year round -- about 50-70 degrees.

Rusk Heating & Cooling installs underground loop systems to allow geothermal units to exchange energy between your home and the earth as needed for heating and cooling.

During the winter, water circulating inside a sealed loop absorbs heat from the ground and carries it to the unit. The heat is then compressed to a higher temperature and sent as warm air to your indoor system for distribution throughout your home.

In the summer, the system reverses and expels heat from your home to the cooler Earth via the loop system. This heat exchange process is not only natural, but is a truly ingenious!
