Tips To Keep Your AC Running Properly

When the warm summer months hit, the last thing you want to be dealing with is an air conditioning system that isn't running up to par. By following the tips below, you can help keep your system running properly all summer long!

Clear debris.
If your outdoor condenser is filled with debris, it can obstruct the airflow and cause costly issues. Use your hose or a vacuum to clear debris thay may be trapped inside your system.

Clean surrounding area.
If your system is blocked by an items such as branches, leaves, outdoor furniture or anything else that can obstruct airflow, it's important to remove it. There should be at least 2 feet clear on each side of your system to ensure there is no blockage of airflow.

Change blower filter.
Your HVAC system filter should be changed at minimim twice a year. Once before winter and once before summer.

Clean and check fins.
To clean your systems fins, get a strong stream flowing from your hose and spray your system down thoroughly to remove any built up dust, debris and any other particles that may be lingering. While cleaning, if you notice any fins are bent use a butter knife or proper tool to straighten them back out. Remember, do this job with care to avoid futher damage.
