How To Control Spring Humidity

Spring is (finally) here to stay! As you check items off of your spring cleaning to-do list and prepare your home for the warmer months, it's easy to forget about indoor comfort as temperatures continue to rise. However, springtime and humidity go hand in hand. Check out a few tips below on how you can control humidity in your home this spring.

Purchase a dehumidifier.
Spring not only brings warmer temperatures and blooming flowers, it also brings excess moisture. One of the best ways to control moisture buildup and keep everyone in your home comfortable is by purchasing and running a dehumidifier.

Run your air conditioner.
Your ac system doesn't necessarily only have to be used to cool things down, it can help moderate humidity in your home as well. Although temperatures may still be a bit cool for ac in early spring, come late spring and summer your ac should do the trick.

Everyday household tasks like showers, laundry, running your dishwasher, and cooking create humidity. Be sure to run ventilation fans, especially in the bathroom and kitchen as they help to reduce unwanted humidity tremendously. If any of these rooms are without a ventilation fan, opening a window is another way to rid the space of humidity.
