Temperatures are starting to dip and when that happens, people like to stay inside their warm, cozy homes. And while staying in can be relaxing at times, there’s plenty of reasons to get out there and enjoy all of the holiday festivities our wonderful cities have to offer. See below for five holiday events taking place in Covington that you definitely won’t want to miss this season:

  1. Macy’s Downtown Dazzle: Macy’s is famous for their holiday displays across the United States and this year will be no disappointment. Head out to the 525 Vine Building Saturday December 2nd or 9th to feast your eyes on the festivities.

  2. Santa’s Workshop: Santa and his elves will be hard at work all through December 23rd. Bring your family and bring your wish lists down to Washington Park to watch them make gifts, ornaments and other holiday staples.

  3. Cincideutsch Christkindlmarkt on Fountain Square: if holiday markets are your thing, this is one you won’t want to miss out on. The famous German Christmas Market takes place on Fountain Square every weekend after Thanksgiving. Vendors will be featuring authentic European baked goods, beer and hand-crafted gifts.

  4. Fountain Square Ice Rink: there may not be a better way to spend a cold December day than by taking laps around an outdoor ice rink. Hot drinks and treats are available for when you need to warm up at the end of the day.

  5. Holiday Lights On The Hill: would it really be the holidays without a spectacular lights display? Head over to Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park through December 31st to see some of the best displays the city has to offer. It’s open Monday-Thursday 6pm-9pm and Friday-Sunday 6pm-10pm.
